French firm Bitstack secures $15M Series A to accelerate European expansion

Paris-based fintech startup Bitstack, which enables users to save and invest in Bitcoin through a simple, secure platform, has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round led by 13books Capital, as Vestbee was informed.

  • Founded in April 2021 by Alexandre Roubaud and Kabir Sethi, Bitstack develops a platform that enables users to effortlessly save and invest in Bitcoin.
  • The app automatically rounds up everyday purchases to the nearest euro and converts the spare change into Bitcoin. In addition, it allows users to buy, sell, send, and receive Bitcoin from as little as €1.
  • Bitstack has over 150,000 users and has facilitated more than €125 million in Bitcoin savings. The platform is licensed as a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) with the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for cryptocurrency operations.
  • In 2024, the firm secured €5 million in funding to support team expansion and the launch of new features. The round was led by Stillmark, with participation from Serena and Plug and Play Tech Center.

Details of the deal

  • The Series A round was led by 13books Capital, with support from AG2R LA MONDIALE, Plug and Play Ventures, Serena, Stillmark, and Y Combinator.

“We are delighted to support Bitstack's development and thereby strengthen our commitment to innovative personal finance solutions that are accessible to all and tailored to the new expectations of our clients who wish to diversify their investments," claims Yannick Lassalle, Director of Open Innovation at AG2R LA MONDIALE Group.

  • Bitstack intends to use the $15 million Series A funding to accelerate its European expansion, introduce new financial products, and grow its team.
  • The company will strengthen its presence in multiple countries by offering localized services, launching a Visa debit card with the “Stackback” Bitcoin rewards program, and opening a Euro account with a French IBAN for seamless transfers and salary conversion. To support these initiatives, Bitstack plans to expand its workforce by adding talent across compliance, technology, marketing, and customer support.
