German climate-tech startup Ark Climate raises €2.1M pre-seed funding

Munich-based Ark Climate, a software company providing end-to-end solutions for municipal climate action, has raised €2.1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by climate-tech investor Satgana, as Vestbee was informed.

  • Established in 2024 by Ruth Bosse, Ark Climate develops a cloud-based software platform and advisory services that help municipalities plan, implement, and track local climate action. Its solution enables cities and districts to create greenhouse-gas inventories using recognized standards such as BISKO, GHG, and GPC, model emissions scenarios, evaluate mitigation measures, and manage projects through a customizable digital action catalog with progress indicators and public dashboards.
  • The platform integrates climate and energy data in a shared workspace so departments and stakeholders can collaborate and monitor results transparently, while built-in analytics assess whether current efforts meet political climate targets.
  • The company, now with 12 employees, already supports 43 German municipalities with software hosted in an ISO-27001-certified EU cloud and complemented by tailored consulting on climate strategies, adaptation planning, and data analysis.

  • The round also included another.VC, the Voyagers Climate Fund, several angel investors, and participation from Germany’s Federal Ministry of Research.

“Ark Climate combines a strong team with a clear vision for one of the most urgent issues of our time: implementing climate action locally. Cities are increasingly relying on digital solutions to reach their climate targets. Ark Climate has the potential to establish itself as a leading partner here. We see enormous growth potential and are excited to support the team on this journey,” claims Romain Diaz, General Partner at Satgana.

  • The €2.1 million pre-seed funding will be used to expand the team, strengthen market presence across German municipalities, and enhance the software platform with more advanced emissions data and AI-driven climate-intelligence features. The aim is to scale adoption among cities and improve their ability to plan, coordinate, and track climate-action measures on the path to climate neutrality.
