Vento, one of Italy's most active early-stage VCs, has launched its second fund of €75 million.
- Founded in 2022 and originated from the organizers of Italian Tech Week(ITW), Vento is a sector-agnostic, geography-independent venture capital firm focused on pre-seed and seed-stage startups. With its second fund, the firm aims to support Italian founders worldwide.
- Vento invests €150,000 upfront, with the potential for follow-on funding of up to €1 million, in teams with at least one Italian founder.
- Beyond capital, the firm runs a five-month program. During the first 12 weeks, founders receive a €3,750 grant from Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo. After that, Vento invests €80,000 for a 10% equity stake in the most promising teams.
- The fund’s sole LP is Exor, the Dutch investment holding company.
- To date, Vento has backed 100+ startups, building an early-stage portfolio with a 2.5% conversion rate. The firm has already made its first investments from the new fund, with Aquila, Excellence, Lexroom, and Wayd among its latest deals.
- Over the next five years, Vento plans to make 375 investments.
