Notable funding rounds across Europe:

  • Copenhagen-based carbon utilization company Again has raised $43 million in a Series A round co-led by GV and HV Capital. 
  • Sweden's AI-driven legaltech startup, Leya, has secured $25 million in a Series A funding round led by Redpoint Ventures.
  • Finnish ​​Onego Bio, a precision fermentation foodtech company, has raised €14 million in new funding from the EIC Accelerator Program and additional Series A investors.
  • Based in Manchester and London, human risk management platform CultureAI has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by Mercia Ventures and Smedvig Ventures.
  • London-based due diligence platform driven by AI Xapien has raised £8 million in a Series A funding round led by UK YFM Equity Partners.
  • German developer of onboarding and training software for blue-collar workers doinstruct has secured €7.6 million led by Creandum. HTGF and D11Z. Ventures also joined the round.
  • Barcelona-based platform for edge computing orchestration and automation, Nearby Computing, has raised €6.5 million in a Series A round led by Walter Ventures and JME Ventures.
  • Paris-based biotech startup Spotlight Medical, which develops personalized care for cancer patients, has secured €6.2 million led by Kurma Partners and Heal Capital.
  • French textile manufacturer Syntetica that develops nylon recycling technology has raised €4.2 million in a seed funding round led by EQT Ventures.
  • Munich-based HRtech startup WorkerHero has secured €4 million in a Series A funding round led by Mediahuis Ventures. 
  • Paris-based AI product photo platform Presti has secured $3.5 million in a round led by Partech, with a strategic partnership with Maisons du Monde. 
  • German SAIZ has secured €2.5 million for its fashion industry's sizing and fit solutions. The investment was led by EnjoyVenture and Salica Investments.
  • UK foodtech startup Kirsty’s has secured £2 million. The investment came from a £660 million Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II, managed by Mercia Ventures.
  • UK energy optimization platform xWatts, which reduces costs and emissions in commercial buildings, has secured $1.8 million in a seed funding round led by Antler.
  • Stockholm-based no-code platform Lemonado has secured $1.4 million in a seed funding round led by Christopher Albinsson from Node.vc.

CEE startup funding rounds & acquisitions:

  • Cluj-Napoca-based startup .lumen, which manufactures devices to improve mobility for people with visual impairments, has secured €5 million.
  • Prague-based platform Adam, which simplifies the process of finding suitable tradesmen for clients, has secured a €3 million late-seed funding from Brighteye.
  • Tallinn-based cross-border finance platform Mifundo has received €2.5 million in grant funding from the EIC Accelerator Program.
  • Latvia-based Jeff App, a data-driven financial marketplace operator for emerging Asian markets, has raised $2 million in a round led by Presto Ventures.

New venture capital funds and VCs’ news:

  • London-based VC firm 13books Capital has closed its second £121 million fund to support European financial technology founders at Seed to Series A rounds. 
  • Prague-based ZAKA VC has achieved the first close of its €15 million ZAKA VC Fund I, raising €10.5 million. The fund will support pre-seed and seed-stage startups across Europe and the US.
  • Netherlands-based VC Golden Egg Check has closed a €5 million fund to support tech startups over the next three years.
  • Prague-based VC Tensor Ventures has secured €1.3 million (CZK 30 million) from Venture Club to support deeptech startups in Luxembourg and the Czech Republic.
  • Digital Irish, an organization dedicated to promoting the growth of Irish startups, has launched a $1 million Digital Irish Venture Fund to support global Ireland’s diaspora startups.

Startup calls & Events: 

The European project FU-TOURISM launches a pre-call for its 5-month FU-TOURISM Acceleration Programme. Within this program, 60 SMEs from Greece, Poland, Spain, Croatia, Belgium, and Austria will each receive €20,000 in financial support for their further growth, along with guidance and business consultancy from industry experts.

This pre-call phase precedes the official call launching next September. Now, all SMEs in the tourism sector, or those contributing to it, are invited to pre-register to stay informed about launch dates and application requirements.
