New VC Funds
- Adventures Lab’s MP Andrew Krivorchuk steps back from the firm to team up with Leon Podobedov in launching a $15M early-stage VC - hi5 Ventures. The firm will invest in pre-seed to pre-series A startups across SaaS, Mobile, EduTech, AI/ML, Security, eSports, or AdTech, underwriting checks ranging from $250k to $1M. CEE Startup Funding Rounds
- Estonian fintech Montonio raises an €11M series A to further develop its e-commerce checkout solution and expand into new markets. The round was led by Index Ventures, Tera Ventures, ffVC, and Superangel.
- Robot-bartender startup Poley.me picks up another 1M PLN in funding to fuel its expansion in Warsaw and Wrocław. The investment was made as a follow-on round from the company’s first investor - Unfold.vc.
- Czech company building an easy-to-use self-serve app for restaurants Qerko picks up €2.5M in funding to scale up its international growth. The investment was joined by Youtube’s CBO Robert Kyncl, Jaroslav Beck, Miton Group, and Greenshark technology fund
- Polish startup Neptune.ai raises $8M to continue helping engineers improve their ML models. The round was led by Almaz Capital, and saw the participation of btov partners, Rheingau founders, and TDJ Pitango .
- Renewable hydrogen-producing startup Naco Technologies nabs €1.5M to build a production plant in Latvia. The investment was made by The Untitled Ventures.
Startup Calls
- One day left to apply for Greentech Europe's 12-week acceleration program for women-led startups in Greentech. The program is run in partnership with Visa and Village Capital to provide early-stage companies with the mentorship and knowledge necessary for landing the first investment. The team should be led by at least 50% female co-founders and based in Europe.
- Startup Impact Program run by retail corporation Żabka and Kozminski Business Hub is collecting applications from startups with the first version of MVP. The program is open to food tech, sustainable development, biodegradable packaging, health, and wellness as well as responsible entrepreneurship-related companies. Applications are open till April 20.
- Shop 4CF is looking for industrial automation and productivity startups from Europe for its 8-month acceleration program and up to €100k in equity-free funding. The applications are open till the 30th of April. https://shop4cf.eu/oc2/
- Polish chemical industry corporation Grupa Azoty is looking for local startups within a wide range of group interests to launch a pilot. Idea4Azoty collects applications till the 30th of April.
- Endeavor Bulgaria has kickstarted the application process for its Dare to Scale acceleration program. To be eligible one should be headquartered or located in Bulgaria, have no more than 150 employees as well as a sales volume of €100k to €20M within the past year. Startups can enroll in the program until the 30th of April.
- Rubik Garage accelerator is looking for CEE/SEE post-MVP startups within a wide range of sectors and industries to accelerate on an equity-free basis. The application process is open until the 1st of May.
- Equity-free incubator Future Makers is looking for startups across different sectors for its 2-week program offering up to €20k in prizes for two winners. It is open to companies from Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia, Ukraine and/or Romania until the 15th of May.
