German startup Vamo secures €7M to accelerate the transition to sustainable heating

Cologne-based startup Vamo, which simplifies the transition to green and affordable heating by providing comprehensive installation and maintenance services for heat pumps, has secured €7 million in a seed extension round. Extantia and GET Fund led the funding.

  • Founded in 2022 by Laurenz Ohlig, Falk Hantl, and Dr. Jan Ossenbrink, Vamo is a digital trade company specializing in comprehensive heat pump solutions. The company provides an all-inclusive package for green heating, managing every step from installation to maintenance, all delivered within one week by a dedicated team of local craftsmen.
  • As of now, Vamo employs over 100 specialists and has companies such as OBI, HornBach, Vaillant, and Viessmann among its clients.
  • Within just six months, Vamo has grown from its Cologne headquarters to operate nationwide, achieving a sixfold increase in year-over-year growth. The startup currently oversees hundreds of smart heat pumps across all 16 federal states in Germany.

Details of the deal

We’re thrilled to back a team proving that the transition can be faster, more affordable, and capable of saving customers millions. At Extantia, we believe real innovation delivers green solutions at a discount, not a premium – and that’s exactly what Vamo is achieving," Co-Founder and Partner at Extantia Capital, Joern-Carlos Kuntze, commented.

  • Vamo plans to use the funds to position itself as a leading brand in green heating, expand its national partner network, and enhance its digital service offerings.
