Lithuanian Unnamed Defense Systems raises $3.2M led by Coinvest Capital

Lithuanian UDS, a military technology company, has raised $3.2 million to develop AI-based swarm integrations and scale combat-tested UAVs. The funding round was led by Lithuanian VC Coinvest Capital, with participation from private investors.

  • Unnamed Defense Systems was founded in 2022 by UAS and satellite specialists operating in international markets. UDS is an innovative swarm technology solutions provider, specializing in the AI-driven fusion of modern battlefield management systems (BMS) and swarm unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
  • The company sells its solutions to the Armed Forces of Lithuania and Ukraine, as well as other EU countries and NATO allies, and has previously won many defense procurement tenders.

We have the ambition to prove to the world that Lithuania is as great at developing high-tech military UAVs, as we are in aerospace or lasers. I am confident in the engineering talent of our team. Moreover, the team is united by a burning inner drive to help Ukrainians win this brutal war,” says Vytenis Buzas, nominated Executive Chairman of the Board.

  • The leading investor, Coinvest Capital, was founded in 2018. It focuses on the early-stage Lithuanian startup and business angel ecosystem. Recently, Coinvest Capital was also a leading investor for Lithuanian platform Pixerian that raised €1.5 million
  • During this funding round for UDS, Coinvest Capital co-invested €900,000 of the €1.6 million total with a fund share. Within the next several months, a further €500,000 will be closed and set aside for foreign investors with experience in the dual-use industry.

“Investments in deterrence and defense have become a theme of the year in Europe as we unite efforts to strengthen resilience and support the Ukrainian nation, heroically holding up against a brutal attack and defending our shared freedom and values. We were impressed by the engineering talent and business acumen of the UDS team, the range of products already proven in Ukraine, and the strategically thought-through roadmap,” says Viktorija Trimbel, Managing Director at Coinvest Capital.

  • The investments will be focused on the ongoing development of swarm technologies, boosting progress in automated and inter-drone coordination, and strengthening NATO's military capacity.
