Oslo-based 3D model creation tech provider Sloyd has secured €3 million in seed funding. The investment came from a16x Games Speedrun, Antler, Skyfall Ventures, FreshFund, Acecap Finance, Hartmann Capital, and Autodesk.
- Sloyd was founded in 2021 by Andreas Edesberg, Øyvind Sørøy, and Avi Latner. The startup develops AI-driven 3D asset creation software that makes it simple for artists to efficiently generate, alter, and use high-quality 3D models.
- The startup employs a team of 13 and has established partnerships with notable organizations such as Nvidia, the Research Council of Norway, Innovation Norway, and Overwolf.
- Sloyd Offers its technology solutionsfor various industries.Thus, major gaming firms use the startup’s technology to improve workflows in game creation, TV/movie production, and architectural visualization.
Details of the deal
- The funding camefrom Speedrun, the early-stage accelerator of a16z Games, one of the Andreessen Horowitz funds. Back in April, a16z raised $7.2 billion for its funds, including $600 million for the launch of a16z Games Fund II.
- Singapore-based VC Antler, Oslo-based VC Skyfall Ventures, FreshFund, Australian Acecap Finance, Miami-based Hartmann Capital, and San Francisco-based Autodesk are also on the investor’s list.
- The fresh capital will help Sloyd make high-quality 3D creation more accessible and efficient for professionals and gamers alike by developing its platform. Additionally, the funding will be used to expand its AI solutions and enhance its user experience.
