Cambridge's digital health platform PocDoc raises £5M pre-A funding

Cambridge-based digital health platform PocDoc, which provides smartphone-based blood testing and health assessments for cardio, metabolic, and renal diseases, has secured £5 million in a pre-A funding round led by MMC Ventures, Molten VC, and Simplyhealth Ventures. This brings the company's total pre-A funding to over £10 million.

  • Founded in 2020 by Kiran Roest, Steve Roest, and Vladimir Gubala, PocDoc develops a digital health platform that enables smartphone-based diagnostic testing and health assessments for cardio, metabolic, and renal diseases.
  • Combining patented Microfluidic Assay (MFA) technology with AI diagnostics, PocDoc provides users with clinically validated multi-marker blood tests, instant results, and access to follow-up services like clinician consultations and real-time treatment options.
  • In 2024, PocDoc integrated its "Healthy Heart Check" into the NHS app, providing wider access to critical disease screenings, with tens of thousands of users and positive feedback.
  •  The company also launched a national partnership with Asda. It strengthened ties with pharmacies, playing a key role in addressing chronic disease management and health inequalities through digital, community-based testing.

Details of the deal

“PocDoc is demonstrating excellent traction and we’re looking forward to working with Steve, Vlad, Kiran, and the team on the next phase of their growth journey," Partner at KHP Ventures, Tim Irish, stated.

  • The fresh funds will support the company’s continued rapid growth, driven by its expanding partnerships with pharmacies, retailers, and corporations and its strengthening relationships with the NHS across the UK.

"We are delighted to see such healthy interest in our vision of revolutionizing access to screening from the investment community and we’re thrilled to have Molten Ventures, MMC Ventures, and Simplyhealth Ventures investing," CEO and co-founder at PocDoc, Steve Roest, commented.
