Berlin-based early-stage venture capital firm Join Capital, focused on deeptech investments across industrial and enterprise tech, has secured funds from the NATO Innovation Fund. Join Capital will support early-stage tech startups across Southern Europe.
- Founded in 2015 by Jan Borgstädt, Sebastian v. Ribbentrop, and Tobias P. Schirmer, Join Capital is a venture capital firm investing in industrial tech and enterprise tech startups across Europe, with a focus on pre-seed to Series A funding rounds.
- Since its inception, Join Capital's portfolio has increased to 27 startups across 10 countries, with 7 exits, including Valispace, Prodsmart, and Codeship.
- The investment in Join Capital came from the NATO Innovation Fund, which has committed €1 billion to deep tech projects addressing defence, security, and resilience challenges.
- In June 2024, two years after its launch, NIF announced its first investments, which include startups such as ARX Robotics, Fractile, iCOMAT, Isar Aerospace, and Space Forge. Additionally, both German Alpine Space Ventures, which closed a €170M fund, and Polish OTB Ventures, which secured $185M, have the NATO Innovation Fund among their limited partners.
