Czech observability startup Better Stack raises $10M from KAYA

Czech provider of DevOps observability solutions Better Stack has raised an additional $10 million in funding led from KAYA. Aaron Levie, CEO at Box, and Kulpreet Singh, ex-UiPath, joined the round as angel investors.

  • Co-founded by Veronika Kolejak, who serves as COO, and Juraj Masar, CEO, Better Stack is building an observability stack that brings Figma-like collaboration to developers, leveraging the advances of the ClickHouse database. The startup’s solution combines monitoring, logging, incident management, status pages among other features, into a single platform.
  • According to Better Stack, its solutions are now used by over 200,000 developers and more than 4,000 customers, including enterprises such as Time Magazine, Salesforce, ESET, Accenture, Decathlon, and Rakuten, startups like Brave, Hugging Face, Apollo, and non-profits such as Unicef, and Raspberry Pi.
  • The leading investor, KAYA, is an early-stage fund dedicated to backing bold founders in CEE, predominantly in Czechia, Poland, Slovakia, and their diasporas. The fund also supported Better Stack during its $18.6 million round raised in July 2022.

“The Better Stack team understands the inner workings of modern engineering teams better than anyone else. Their product is an obvious choice for fast-moving companies: 100x faster and 10x cheaper is an easy choice,” Tomas Obrtac, General Partner at KAYA, says.

  • In 2023, Better Stack became profitable, and the fresh funding will support the startup in its further growth.
