Vilnius-based startup CyberUpgrade, which automates cybersecurity compliance to make it engaging and efficient for CTOs and CISOs, has secured €2.5 million in a seed funding round. The investment, backed by Superhero Capital, Specialist VC, FIRSTPICK, and NGL Ventures, will be used to enhance and expand its AI-driven cybersecurity solutions.
- Founded in 2023 by Aurimas Bakas, Andrius Minkevičius, Nojus Antanas Bendoraitis, and Algirdas Stasiunaitis, CyberUpgrade develops AI-driven solutions that automate cybersecurity compliance for CTOs and CISOs.
- The startup's product, CISO Copilot, helps teams proactively assess, train, and maintain cybersecurity practices, while the CoreGuardian dashboard provides real-time visibility to ensure continuous compliance with security and ICT standards.
- CyberUpgrade’s platform lets organizations offload 95% of their ICT security and compliance tasks through a subscription, combining expert knowledge and advanced software to speed up security and compliance by up to three times while ensuring high quality.
Details of the deal
- The investment came from Superhero Capital, a Helsinki-based venture capital firm that invests in seed-stage, software-driven startups in Finland and the Baltics. The firm typically makes initial investments ranging from €100,000 to €1 million.
- The seed round also included participation from Harju-based VC Specialist VC, FIRSTPICK, a Vilnius-based venture capital firm investing in Baltic tech startups, Vilnius-based VC NGL Ventures, and business angels, including Marios S. Kalochoritis and Sergei Anikin.
- CyberUpgrade will use €2.5 million to enhance its AI-driven platform, expand its services, and help SMEs meet tightening EU cyber regulations by improving cybersecurity automation and accessibility.
