Warsaw and NYC-based Cogito Capital Partners secures €90M in first close for Cogito Fund II

Cogito Capital Partners, a venture capital firm based in Warsaw and NYC that focuses on later-stage B2B tech companies, has secured €90 million in the first close of its Cogito Fund II, with a target of €125 million in total capital commitments. The new fund will support both later- and early-stage tech companies across the CEE region.

  • Founded in 2019 by Sylwester Janik and Martin Jasinski, Cogito Capital Partners is a venture capital firm that supports later- and early-growth-stage B2B tech companies. The firm specializes in sectors such as software, fintech, and healthtech, with a focus on backing startups poised for expansion into the US and global markets.
  • Since its inception, Cogito Capital Partners' portfolio has grown to include 9 startups, such as Finom, HigoSense, Ramp, SkyEngine, and Uncapped. The firm has also seen a successful exit from Applica, achieving a 10x return.
  • The new fund plans to invest in later- and early-growth-stage enterprise tech businesses across Europe, with a particular focus on companies in Central Europe, making investments ranging from €5 million to €15 million per company.

"We are grateful to our investors for their support. We are excited about the unique investment opportunities created by the clear equity gap in funding for scale-ups across European markets and the high-growth potential of the technology sector in Central Europe," Managing Partner at Cogito Capital Partners, Sylwester Janik, stated.

  • Cogito Fund II has garnered support from several key institutions, including the European Investment Fund (EIF), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Polish Development Fund (PFR), and the Kościuszko Foundation, USA. Additionally, the fund has received backing from family offices and tech entrepreneurs across the US and Europe.

"We continue to foster the growth of the Polish venture and growth capital market. I believe that the contribution of Cogito Capital Partners to the Polish ecosystem through their second fund will be just as impactful as it was with the first one," Investment Director at PFR Ventures, Bartłomiej Samsonowicz, commented.
