CEE Startups Of The Month - February 2023

After looking at the diverse set of fascinating solutions featured in our January edition, the time has come to present you with a new round of hand-picked startups chosen throughout February.

As usual, we highlighted the most exciting startups from Central & Eastern Europe worth your attention - let’s find out what they’re all about!

YuMuuv

The very first on the list, YuMuuv is a wellness platform for distributed teams. The main aim of the app is to address the distress caused by an ever-more sedentary and unhealthy lifestyle, resulting in both personal and professional distress. To help alleviate this, YuMuuv provides a way of gathering wearable data to then analyze and suggest various wellness challenges involving jogging, physical exercise or more subtle ones involving things like maintaining a sleep schedule or keeping up regular water consumption. As a result, the platform gives an engaging way of staying fit and connecting with your colleagues and yourself.

Wflow

An up-and-coming startup from our selection, Wflow is an accounting automation platform. The core problem the company attempts to optimize is that of time-consuming, manual and human-reliant accounting tasks, back-and-forth approvals between various parties and so forth. To work on that, Wflow provides a comprehensive solution helping process all kinds of accounting documents, juggling them through ERP or other web platforms and archiving, all within one platform!

SMAPP LAB

The very next on our list, SMAPP LAB, is a Hungarian startup developing an insect monitoring system. As far as the problem is concerned - up to a %40 of crops get destroyed by insects, which makes it quite an important priority for farmers. Using SMAPP LAB, farmers can attract pests from afar, record a picture from the system and immediately notify the farmer on his/her phone or a laptop. Consequently, all the necessary insect elimination steps can be taken on much shorter notice and more efficiently.

Vitadio

The forthcoming company on the list, Vitadio is a digital therapeutics app for people with type 2 diabetes. The main problem company helps to work on is the increasing inability of healthcare institutions to continuously treat and track people with the condition, all the while medications are only alleviating the symptoms. To work around this systemic issue, Vitadio offers an all-in-one platform for diabetes patients providing personalized bite-sized advice coupled with coaching and support from the platform's healthcare professional network, going as far as telling you which foods are safe for one's health or not based on just a single photo.

Carbominer

The forthcoming company on the list, Carbominer is a climate tech startup providing developed a modular DAC technology to capture CO₂ from the open air locally, at the place of use. The company accelerates the transition to sustainable indoor agriculture by enabling local CO₂ Direct Air Capture that effectively improves crop yield and reduces carbon footprint.

As a result, the company not only drastically reduces the global carbon footprint but also puts it to more fruitful use.

Sizze

Sizze is a no-code application helping users go from a few Figma designs into functional native apps including exportable code. The core problem the company works on is that of quickly developing and releasing a testable MVP to check out the viability of the use case or iterating on the new features. As a result, one can start a startup or expand a product/service to mobile with much less hassle and effort.

Labplus

The next startup on the list, Labplus is a platform for lab test interpretation. The problem startup helps to alleviate is that of confusion and lack of awareness as to what the blood, urine, or stool digits mean, which results in a drastically decreased healthy lifespan, and sometimes in suffering from perfectly preventable conditions. With Labplus, a patient (or a doctor) can easily upload the test results, get a few questions to confirm the normality or abnormality of given results and receives clearly-formulated insights on the status of their health.

Hinter.ai

The next company on the selection, Hinter.ai, is an organizational initiative's platform to support business decision-making. With Hinter, companies can gather company-wide data and practical suggestions directly from the employees. Having done that, the platform combines it with the platform's algorithmic analysis aggregated on global business intelligence, which consequently provides clearly-defined initiatives to drive the company's growth. As a result, the platform's clients can have robust business insights at the very length of their fingertips.

Born Digital

Born Digital is a customer service automation platform to support enterprise contact centres. The core problem the startup helps to alleviate is that of processing and analyzing staggering amounts of customer outreach resulting in long wait times and less-than-optimal service. Using Born Digital, clients can easily automate most of the email/call outreach while analyzing and gradually improving on more and more customer-company interactions. As a result, both the client user and their customers end up better served within a shorter amount of time.

Akurateco

Akurateco is a payment orchestration platform for merchants and payment service providers. The main problem the platform aims to solve is the time-consuming and costly nature of integrating various payment and/or KYC providers, resulting in slower deployment and continuous upkeep/overreliance on maintaining the infrastructure. To help solve this problem, Akurateco provides comprehensive solutions allowing its clients to manage, integrate and continuously use various payment solutions in a few weeks affordably and reliably.
