Romanian Nordensa secures €1.65M to develop its football talent platform and expand internationally

Romanian fan-powered platform, Nordensa, announced the raise of €1.65 million in a seed round to further develop the platform and expand into new regions. Investors in the round include the Head of Marketing at Manchester City Football Club and members of the company's advisory board.

  • Established in 2022 by Adrian Docea and Guilherme Fernandes, Nordensa offers a scouting platform where fans can serve as sponsors for football players, assisting them in signing with major European clubs. Additionally, backers of the signed footballers have an opportunity to receive up to 8% of the player’s salary for 5 years.
  • The startup is headquartered in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and operates across Europe. It has already established partnerships with clubs such as Real Zaragoza, Standard de Liege, Kawasaki Frontale, Flyeralarm Admira, Dinamo Bucuresti, ETO Gyor, among others, as well as several football academies worldwide, Romania Insider informs.
  • Investors in the seed round include AFC Bournemouth player Emiliano Marcondes, former Denmark international Lasse Vibe, Group Head of Football at Right to Dream Mads Davidsen, Burnley FC club owner Alan Pace, and Head of Marketing at Manchester City Football Club Chris Kay.
  • The current round has pushed Nordensa's valuation to €15 million. The startup plans to secure an additional bridge round of €1.5 million ahead of a Series A funding later this year.
  • With the €1.65 million raised, Nordensa aims to accelerate platform development, expand its partner and user base, broaden its geographical reach, and add other sports to the platform.
