Berlin-based fertility care startup Ovom Care has raised a €4.8 million seed funding round to develop its Ovom Technology Ecosystem and expand its hybrid care model across Europe. The investment was made by Alpha Intelligence Capital, Ananda Impact Ventures, Merantix, and angel investors.
- Founded in 2023 by Dr. Cristina Hickman, Felicia von Reden, and Lynae Brayboy, Ovom Care develops a platform that offers customized fertility and reproductive care. The startup utilizes AI technology, advanced testing methods, and modern laboratory techniques to enhance the effectiveness of fertility treatments.
- Ovom Care’s app is designed to lead the whole journey by providing users with an online hub to communicate with their healthcare team, view treatment plans, book appointments, pay for services, and learn about their fertility.
- The startup operates in the UK, Greece, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the UAE, Kuwait, and the US. Its global team of experts includes fertility specialists, IVF consultants, medical engineers, embryologists, and IVF researchers.
- The investment saw participation from Alpha Intelligence Capital, a venture capital firm based in Luxembourg that invests in AI tech startups, Munich-based Ananda Impact Ventures, a venture capital firm that backs European startups to scale globally, Merantix from Berlin, and business angels.
“The investment will fuel the European expansion of our hybrid care model beyond the UK and drive the further development of the Ovom Technology Ecosystem,” Founder and CEO of Ovom Care, Felicia von Reden, stated.
- With the €4.8 million, Ovom Care plans to expand its hybrid care model outside the UK, launch its first state-of-the-art fertility clinic in Portugal at the end of 2024, and work on the development of the Ovom Tech Ecosystem.
