German startup Kertos, a developer of an AI-powered compliance platform, has secured €14 million in a Series A round to transform how European businesses manage regulatory compliance.
- Founded by Dr. Kilian Schmidt and his team, Kertos combines a robust operating system with AI-native automation and on-demand expert support. The platform integrates with existing tech stacks, automatically discovers assets, generates real-time insights, assesses risk, and automates the end-to-end compliance workflow — from document drafting and evidence collection to continuous monitoring, reducing time and effort for organizations of all sizes.
- Kertos helps startups and scaleups get compliant quickly to unlock enterprise deals, enables mid-market firms to automate manual work and fuel growth, and allows large corporates to replace fragmented compliance processes with AI, freeing teams to focus on strategy and governance.
- The Series A round was led by global fintech investor Portage, with continued participation from existing backers Pilabs, Redstone, 10x Founders, and seed+speed Ventures.
